FRIDAY'S TEST:
The 'reading test' on Friday is different this week and next, there will be a written response about something from our Growing Up Where Jesus lived book. It is from the chapter we are reading in class today (6) so it should be fresh.
The vocab test is much different. We have five words we have been working with this week. They will have the list of five words and be asked to choose two to use in sentences that show they know what the words means. (The sentence "I like yeast." would not be full credit, but a sentence like, "Jesus' mom used yeast in the bread." would show understanding and be full credit. Capitalization and punctuation as well as spelling of the vocab word count- the vocab words on are on the paper!) Then they choose two other words and write what it means/the definition in their own words. For the last word, they draw a picture of what it is or what it means. They can choose which words to use for each section, using each word once. The words are: cistern (a gutter and well like structure for capturing and storing rain water), yeast (an ingredient used to make bread rise), sieve (a basket with holes in the bottom for sifting grains), refreshing (something that feels good- perhaps cooling or restful), and mend (to fix through sewing).

Wednesday- If you have any on hand, bring in an empty cereal box (please do not buy anything extra for this)
Note from the office: For picture day, solid colors in medium to dark tones photograph well. Avoid all white or light
