Easter Video
This is a video that we will examine throughout the week. It is the best example that I have found of a picture of what the Easter story would have looked like from the Passover to the raising of our Lord without being too graphic for 3rd graders. I welcome you to examine it as a family as well.
Bible Verse INformation
The memory verses we will be memorizing in the next few weeks is a little different. We will be learning Philippians 2:5-11, but over a three week period. Following is the breakdown of verses and when they will be tested:
Friday, April 3-“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
-Philippians 2:5-7
Friday, April 10-“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name…”
-Philippians 2:8-9
Friday, April 17-“…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
-Philippians 2:10-11
We will quiz these verses much like we did the passage at Christmas. On April 10, If they remember the verse from April 3, they will get bonus. And on April 17, they will need to know the entire passage. They can choose to recite the verse or complete a fill-in-the-blank quiz. All recited verses must be said by Thursday April 16th due to Mrs. Moore being out at a conference. The written test will only be given Friday April 17th.
