Nov. 13th will be a spirit day- dress in blue and gold!

Halloween- As you probably know, we do not celebrate Halloween as a school. Please refrain from sending in anything ghostly, costume related, jack-o-lantern, or otherwise Halloween related. As far as candy and treats go, also per school policy, we cannot have delicious sweet treats. If you (or a sneaky third grader) are sending in candy in a lunchbox, please keep it to one small piece as a dessert, M&Ms in a trail mix, etc. If your child is not bringing in a lunch box, they are not allowed to bring in outside food to the cafeteria- I think that rule is bigger than us, health dept maybe.
Next week homework- Because of the wax museum work required next week, there will be no homework and no spelling or bible verse test. We will take a short vocab quiz and language quiz but I think I have to record it under ‘class work’ in the grade book. The speeches will be finished and a copy sent home by today. We are working on putting the speeches onto note cards today and tomorrow and those will come home on Friday (but need to be returned to school each day!) It might be beneficial to make an identical set for home so they are not lost in transition?
Many students are out of glue sticks and some running low on pencils. Would you help me by checking in with your child about their school supply situation? I’m giving out glue sticks every day, but as I’ve mentioned before, I think 3rd graders must eat them.
