If you are wanting to share a blessing of your time or resources with our class, you will find the online form here.

A few last minute items:
It was a pleasure to meet so many of you at back-to-school night last week.
A few of you have already sent me a text- if you haven't and you do text, please feel free to. I'd love to have your contact info handy to occasionally send a quick note or photo during the school day.
Many of you have also already gotten onto the online volunteer sign up for helping in the room, working with parties, and blessing our class with wish list items.
If you haven't and would like to do so, here's the link- http://tinyurl.com/volunteer-in-126
Again, please have the school supplies and art boxes ready to go on Monday.
We have art early in the morning. Please have items opened and labeled and pencils sharpened. The requested box is a shoebox sized container with lid. Photo here if needed: http://fromroom126.weebly.com/grade-level-school-supply-list.html
I don't think I mention at back to school night, but we do not have snack in 3rd grade. I do encourage you to send a water bottle for after recess. A filled sports bottle or thermos type bottle works great. We enjoy a read aloud right after recess and the kids are often so hot from playing, this becomes a nice time to rest and cool down.
I know I didn't mention something important- drop off and pick up! If you are a veteran East campus parent, there is nothing new for you. I would recommend putting a friend/classmate's parent on your pick up list that you can call to pick up your child and wait with them for a few minutes should you be running late. Here's the info from the back to school packet concerning drop off and pick up:
"Children
may enter the east or west doors in the morning. At the east doors (those
closest to the parking lot by Wendy's), you may drop them off in the car line,
or walk them to the door. At the west doors (those by the school office), there
is no car line; you must park and walk them to the door. You are welcome to walk
them to their seat in the hall or say your goodbyes at the door.
They may walk to the waiting spot in the hall on their own. Students
are allowed to sit in the hallway (in our assigned area) as early as 7:30, which
is when teachers will be present in the halls. Students may not
go to the classroom until I meet them in the hallway at 7:50. Please do
not gather outside the classroom or wait there with your child. Students
will be marked tardy if they are not in the classroom going through morning
procedures by 8:00. Anyone arriving after the 8:00 bell will need to report to
the office for a tardy slip before coming to class.
Students will be
picked up at the east glass doors (church entrance) at 3:00. It does take us a
few minutes to walk to the other side of the building.
We will exit the glass doors facing Lincoln (the glass doors facing Lics,
not those facing Wendy's). Students cannot
be dismissed to parents in the hallway, only at the glass doors. If you
know you will not arrive by 3:15 on a particular day, please call the office so
other arrangements can be made with the After Care. Students not picked up at
the glass doors by 3:15 will be signed in to After Care.
3rd grade after care has traditionally met in room 127 and 128 (next door
to us)."
Our waiting spot in the morning has been to the left of the school office( if you are facing the office), just around the corner. I will be on hall duty during the first
week, so just look for me.
Dojo parent codes will go home on Monday. Xtra math codes will go home Thursday. On Friday, I'm sending home directions for using 'Over-drive' which you might find handy should you have a tablet or laptop. It allows you to borrow free electronic copies of books from our local libraries. It's a great way to read for AR. Last year third grade discovered that our kids need more practice reading from a screen, as that's how iread and istep test them. I'll send more information home about bringing in electronic devices in a few weeks- however you will find most of the information concerning our policy in the back to school packet. Remember, it's totally optional to participate and up to parents to use their discursion concerning student responsibility and pricey electronics.
I'm sure I'll think of three more things as soon as I hit send! I trust that you will all have a relaxing Sunday, the last day of summer vacation and will have a happy Monday morning as you prepare for the first day of third grade! (There are Pancakes and scrambled eggs, cheeseburger, or turkey and cheese sandwiches on the menu) I'll see you all soon! Thanks in advance for sharing your special kiddos with me this
year!
